Our 2008 Celebrity World
Futurity Judges are Brad Sprouse, Terry Duespohl and Val Townsend Celebrity Judging
The Celebrity World Futurity has always used the 3 Judge system to
avoid bias in the show ring. Only the two closest scores are
used, with the "odd" score thrown out, making it impossible for one
judge to hurt or help you in the ring. You can check out how
your llama placed by downloading the scoring sheets we use
when calculating your score. As you will see, they are the
original sheets we use when hand scoring. We also feed the
numbers into the computer to compare results, but those would not
show you the process of "throwing out" the odd score. When
looking at your scores, remember that each judge gives your llama a
placing, and the judges are not allowed to discuss placings with one
another. We transfer their scores onto the scoring worksheet,
then cross out the score that is furthest away from the other two.
We then add the two scores left, and assign placing to the lowest
numbers. In case of a tie, we use the tie breaking judge's
placing in that class.
