Why Oklahoma?
Livestock Show Capital of the Nation

Why Oklahoma? <br/>Livestock Show Capital of the Nation

First, we are able to offer a venue superior to virtually all facilities now used for alpaca events, at prices simply not possible at convention centers that are converted to a weekend livestock facility. The layout of Oklahoma City is perhaps the most convenient of any place we have worked. The airport, host hotel, several great restaurants, and Heritage Place are all just within minutes of one another.
Secondly, when one maps the location of most
alpacas sales, about 85% are in the same small area in the northeast quarter of the country, and generally within less than a day’s drive of one another, thus creating a lot of pressure for a relatively small (although highly populated) area.
Other major factors in our decision include:
• Our largest percentage of new inquiries and new
buyers are from the Midwest.
• Last year’s largest alpaca show (GWAS) was
held in Denver, CO.
• AOBA’s recent announcement to move the 2010
AOBA National Conference from the West (Salt
Lake City) to the East (Indiana).
With all of the above, we felt this was the ideal time to make a move we had been considering for a while.
